Coach 1 (C1) Rating
The C1 is the entry level rating for all other CSPA ratings. This 3-day course is available to skydivers in the stage of Novice Progression – Basic on the Skills Grid. Completion of an online Ethics Evaluation with the (Coaching Association of Canada) CAC is required for certification.
C1 Prerequisites

At least 18 years old

B Certificate of Proficiency (CoP)

Observe role of a Coach 1 on a dropzone

Provide a video tape of a manoeuver series for evaluation before the course.*
*Jump within the last 12 months (confirmed by logbook entry; signed by cameraman), demonstrating (as per PIM 2A) on the same jump (within 30 seconds). Emphasis on proper execution of each rotation and precision of headings, not speed of rotations.

Coach 2 (C2) Rating
The C2 primarily coaches recreational skydivers developing skills outlined in the stage of Novice Progression – Advanced in the Skills Grid. Training is provided in the form of a 3-day course.
C2 Prerequisites

C Certificate of Proficiency (CoP)
Progressive Freefall Instructor (PFFI) Rating
A Progressive Freefall Instructor develops students in the PFF program. This 5-day rating course requires training specific to the equipment, aircraft, and progression used at a particular DZ.
PFFI Prerequisites

Coach 2 (C2) Certified

Either Jump Master (JM) or Skydiving School Instructor (SSI) certified, or completed the pre-course journal

Observe 2 complete First Jump Courses (FJCs) within last year
-
Have at least 600 jumps; recommended 800 jumps

Have 6 hours of accumulated freefall time; recommended 8 hours
-
Completed Ground Control Instructor (GCI) module; GCI certified recommended
